Resumo Esse artigo focaliza a evidência material para o culto da água dedicado à Sulis Minerva, em Bath, Avon, propondo uma análise do hibridismo religioso romano-céltico, do ponto de vista nativo, no contexto da conquista da Britânia pelos romanos, no Século I d. C. Procuramos compreender as resposta dos nativos e suas estratégias de resistência ao poder imperial face à difusão da cultura romana. Abstract This paper focuses on the material evidence of the water cult of Sulis Minerva in Bath, Avon, showing the hybrid character of Romano-Celtic religion from the native point of view, in the context of the Roman conquest of Britain in the First Century AD. We seek to understand the answer of the native Britons and their strategies of resistance to the Imperial power in face to the diffusion of the Roman culture.
