LUZES E SOMBRAS: BASES DO PENSAMENTO BURGUÊS SOBRE A EDUCAÇÃO FEMININA NOS DISCURSOS PEDAGÓGICOS DE ROUSSEAU

Resumo

O século XVIII, considerado o século das Luzes pela profunda crença na Razão, elegeu a educação como o instrumento para a emancipação humana, no entanto, no que se refere à educação feminina esse ideal racionalista não foi suficiente para propiciar grandes transformações nas práticas educacionais, sendo a imagem de “sombras” a que mais se aproximava da situação das mulheres nesse século. Este estudo apresenta as bases do pensamento burguês sobre a educação feminina nos discursos pedagógicos do século XVIII, presentes especialmente na literatura ficcional, cuja meta era a formação da mãe-educadora, para tornar a vida do homem “agradável e doce” e formar os bons cidadãos. Destacamos o pensamento pedagógico de Rousseau em suas obras Emílio ou da Educação e Júlia ou a Nova Heloísa. Palavras-chave: educação feminina, Iluminismo, Rousseau. ABSTRACT The eighteenth century, considered the Age of Enlightenment by the profound belief in Reason, chose education as the instrument for human emancipation, however, with respect to the female education this rationalist ideal was not enough to propitiate great transformations in educational practices, being the image of “shadows” that more approached the situation of women in this century. This study presents the bases of bourgeois thought about female education in the pedagogical discourses of the eighteenth century, present especially in fictional literature, whose aim was the formation of mother-educator, to make the life of man “nice and sweet” and train good citizens. We emphasize the pedagogical thought of Rousseau in his works Emile, or on Education and Julie, or the New Heloise. Keywords: women’s education, enlightenment, Rousseau.
