PROFESSORES HOMENS NA EDUCAÇÃO INFANTIL: ACEITAÇÃO E RECEIO DOS FAMILIARES QUE VIVENCIAM ESSA EXPERIÊNCIA

Resumo

Tendo em vista que na maioria das escolas não existem professores homens na educação infantil, surgiu o interesse em realizar uma pesquisa em alguns municípios do Estado de Mato Grosso do Sul que tem esses profissionais trabalhando com crianças, para investigar as representações sociais desses familiares sobre o trabalho desenvolvido pelos docentes do gênero masculino com crianças. A pesquisa de natureza qualitativa foi realizada, mediante gravação de entrevistas semiestruturadas, com 11 familiares, em quatro diferentes municípios. Os resultados demonstram que as representações sociais predominantes são de que as mulheres têm maiores habilidades para trabalhar com crianças e os homens impõem mais respeito; existe a preocupação com a questão da higiene pessoal dos alunos, principalmente se for para o professor dar banho ou trocar as meninas; para alguns entrevistados o importante não é o gênero dos docentes e sim a competência para desenvolver o trabalho com qualidade. TEACHERS MEN IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION: ACCEPTANCE AND FEAR OF FAMILY WHO EXPERIENCE THIS EXPERIENCE ABSTRACT Given that in most schools there are no male teachers in early childhood education, became interested in performing research in some municipalities in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul that has these professionals working with children, to investigate the social representations of these families on the work done by male teachers with children. The qualitative research was carried out by recording semi-structured interviews with 11 families in four different municipalities. The results show that the predominant social representations are that women have greater skills to work with children and men impose more respect; there is concern about the issue of personal hygiene of the students, especially if it is for the teacher to bathe or change the girls; for some respondents the important thing is not the gender of teachers but the competence to carry out the work with quality.
