This thematic dossier of  Revisa de Letras Juçara aims to gather research  in the areas of LANGUAGE, LANGUAGE TEACHING AND MULTICULTURALISM/INTERCULTURALISM of a theoretical and/or applied nature about language education in the teaching/learning process of a first or second language, considering the multiplicity of cultures, languages and their use, as a result of contemporary society, immersed in the plural context of the globalized world and its diverse social and cultural nuances; the need to change paradigms and methodological practices related to language teaching that are capable of dealing with the heterogeneity of social and cultural identities in this context; the role of technologies, media and digital culture in language teaching; and the provision of teaching that includes the development of multiliteracies with focus in “cultural multiplicity and semiotic multiplicity in the constitution of texts through which societies inform and communicate”. (ROJO, 2012). Papers with an emphasis on the description of linguistic diversity and its relationship with the context of social and cultural changes may also be submitted. The contribution of this dossier lies in the dissemination of studies that may reflect the necessary change in paradigms in language teaching based on multi and intercultural issues.

Revista de Letras Juçara also has a free-theme section, which includes reviews and various texts of literary theory and criticism. It also has a section for artistic production, which receives short stories, poems and chronicles.
