Thematic Dossier:

In contemporary literary narratives targeted to children and young people, multiple themes are mobilized to compose the stories, given the various possibilities of (re)creation. Fairy tales, for example, bring in their inventory a component of the oral tradition, from immemorial times, passing through other social-cultural contexts of production. Currently, many stories gain other versions and legitimate adaptations to the demands of representation of the human condition or establish inter-textual relationships with these classic tales, without losing their aesthetic value, whether in verbal and visual achievements, or in interactions with other languages. The theme suggested for this dossier proposes to bring together theoretical and critical reflections on contemporary literary works that focus on important themes to our social-historical time, such as identity, race, politics, war, oppression, immigration, death, violence, melancholy, ecology, among others. By the way, the dossier intends to present studies that deal with the types of production, circulation and reading practices processes. Under the observance of the way of being in the world, these stories can provide thought-provoking and reflective literary experiences for children and young people, who are also surrounded by these thematic aspects in social life, giving them autonomy through new meanings in the reading horizon, according to trends listed by critics and scholars Colomer (2017), Gregorin Filho (2011), Hunt (2010), Khéde (1990), Lajolo and Zilberman (1984) and Souza (2001). That said, it is convenient to focus on the fairy tale, tale in general, retelling and minitale genres. Therefore, studies of children's and youth works are accepted, under multiple critical perspectives of contemporary thought.

Justification:
