Abstract

O arroz de Palma, by Francisco Azevedo tells the story of a family portugueses immigrants in Brazil, who are part of a large group that move around the world, and full of human warmth.It is a current narrative organized from the memories of an octogenarian character narrator. This text seeks consideration by Walter Benjamin about the narrator and this as a subject the configures itself in the concepto of between-places, situated inthe varied concepts of exile, in the reflections brought by Stuart Hall,  Homi Bhabha end Edward Said, as well the other theorists who will contribute to the development of the proposed analysis.
