Abstract

This article has as its central theme the literary analysis of the poems “Reclame” and “How it's good to be a chameleon”, by poet Ricardo de Carvalho Duarte – better known as Chacal –, written during “the leaden years” of the Dictatorship Military; in this analysis, not only influences from the troubled political context were considered, but also stylistic traits of modern and transgressive marginal poetry, of which the author was one of the main exponents. The research was developed based on bibliographic studies, having as theoretical foundation authors who have focused on the historical period (KAMINSKI, 2016; REIS FILHO, 2014; VIEIRA, 2007; JUTGLA, 2013), marginal poetry (CEI, 2011; GUTIERREZ , CEI, 2018; HOLLANDA, 2007) and the work of the poet in question (ESTEVES, 2014; MEDEIROS, 2012; SALGUEIRO, 2010). Thus, it was observed that the poems studied have very striking characteristics of Chacal's work, relying on humor, irony and play on words and ideas to insert his literary contribution as an artist, writer and poet among the discourses of resistance to oppression dictatorial.
