Abstract

This study proposes to analyze the narrators of Alexandre and others heroes (1962), by the writer Graciliano Ramos, based on the theories of Gérard Genette (1995, 2015, 2017), and to discuss the possible relationships between the narrator's voice in third-person and first-person narrator. Being a bibliographical analytical article has the support of scholars such as Azevedo (2014), Reis and Lopes (1988), Gancho (2002), Osman Lins (1981) and Mourão (2020). From this it was observed that the role of the extradiegetic narrator is to present the characters Alexandre, Cesária and their neighbors, but the intradiegetic narrator is responsible for telling their own stories and presenting the characters in the plot in first person. Thus, it is considers that Alexandre's narrative is subordinated to the narrator's voice in the third person, but the narrators present their particularities and perform different functions.
