DUPLOS CANIBAIS: UMA ANÁLISE DA OBRA LITERÁRIA DE THOMAS HARRIS E DA OBRA TELEVISIVA DE BRYAN FULLER

Abstract

The following work consists of a research on two works, one literary and the other television. The literary work is the novel Red Dragon, by Thomas Harris, from 1981, and the television work is Hannibal, by Bryan Fuller, produced and exhibited from 2013 to 2015. The main objective of this work is to analyze the two main characters of these works, Will Graham and Hannibal Lecter. For this analysis, the theory of the double, studied by Otto Rank and Freud, will be used. In this way, it is intended to analyze how the theory of the double can serve as a response to what Bryan Fuller develops in his adaptation of the literary work of Thomas Harris. With the analysis, it was possible to perceive that the double is a possible answer to the questions raised in the adaptation. The contrast between the characters is evident in several moments of the narrative and, mainly, in the adaptation
