The possible relations between the fields of history and literature have been studied for centuries, since there are many similarities to be compared and divergences to be highlighted. It is from this hypothesis that the present article proposes to analyze such linkages in the novel Eu, Tituba: bruxa negra de Salem (2019), mainly from the theoretical points of view of three main historians and philosophers, being them José Carlos Reis (2010), Yvan Lamonde (2007) and Paul Ricoeur (1994). Moreover, the writing of this article, which also honors the author Maryse Condé, who recently deceased, proposes to analyze the female representation present in the narrative, focusing mainly on the figure of the black woman of the seventeenth century. From these analyzes, it is possible to see the racism of historians and the filling of historical gaps that literature can provide for several people, but mainly enslaved women, like Tituba.
