Abstract

Resumo: A Vita Columbae escrita por Adomnán de Iona, no século VII, é uma das principais composições hagiográficas da Early Christian Ireland. O objetivo deste artigo é compreender o papel, a dimensão e o significado dos conceitos de Peregrinatio e Penitentia no primeiro livro desta obra. Palavras-chave: São Columba, Peregrinatio, Penitentia, Early Christian Ireland. Abstract: Vita Columbae written by Adomnán of Iona in the seventh century is a major hagiographic composition from Early Christian Ireland. The aim of this paper is to comprehend the role, scale and meaning of the concepts Peregrinatio and Penitentia in the first book of this work.
