Abstract
Abstract The present essay deals with the aspects of space and time in the two works: “Parzival“ by Wolfram von Eschenbach and “Parsifal“ by Richard Wagner under the point of view of the changeover of Parzival/Parsifal to his determined position as King of the Holy Grail. In this phase of liminality, the forest is mainly the place of his ramblings and he seems to find himself outside the socially measurable time. As an outsanding figure in this modified perspective of space and time, the sorceress Cundrîe/Kundry bears the traits of a hybrid creature. The multiple points of reference in the reading of both the figure and the road of Parzival/Parsifal are followed up throughout the essay, in a comparative procedure regarding the reception of the medieval work by Richard Wagner. Keywords: Liminality, initiation, reception.Downloads
