Abstract

Under the aegis of capital, natural resources are appropriate and transformed into commodities. In this logic, territories are explored and traditional communities are dispossessed of their work and housing environments, the workforce, natural resources (beach, rivers, restinga, their accesses and the benefi ts that such resources can off er). With regard to beach regions, there is a symbolic appropriation of nature, with the creation of simulations and narratives that attract tourists, adding value to a production chain with a high degree of socio-environmental exploitation. Thus, several hegemonic agents articulate in networks in various scales of diverse interests to ensure the expansion of the material base, modifying the relationship between society and nature, causing negative impacts and socio-environmental confl icts. Thus, this article aims to analyze the socioenvironmental confl icts in the territory of the so-called “Ecological Route of Miracles”, located on the northern coast of Alagoas inserted in the Federal Environmental Protection Area Costa dos Corals - APACC. This was methodologically constructed from a literature review; fi eld study with locus observation and photographic recording using non-tripulable aerial vehicle; survey of reports in the main communication vehicles between the years 2015 to 2021 on the socio-environmental problems and confl icts that occurred in the research area; and document identifi cation and analysis of licenses imitated in the area. Thus, it is noted that the local population has been dispossessed of their social spaces and natural resources, with an evident transformation in preexisting forms of work, which are being subsumed by the tourism industry.
