Abstract

Milton Santos is known in Bolivia only after his death, in a context where geography was just beginning to resurface after the reopening of the Geography Career after the recovery of democracy. However, his writings on geography from his bibliographical texts since then have been serving new generations of geographers and postgraduate students, showing the importance of mother science, also showing the need not to settle for reading or assimilating imported geographical currents. Overseas, but rather, to reflect on the reality that we live in our countries from Latin American critical thinking, incorporating new visions and paradigms such as climate change, poverty and common problems in the “third world”, as well as new techniques and flexible methods under a contemporary space-time framework, also giving new guidelines to think about geography from Bolivian professionals.
