Abstract

The main objectivity of the text is to present the configuration of foreign trade and the role of the exchange rate in the soybean production chain. Thus, the basic assumption to achieve this intention is: Brazil has forged its dynamic agro-industrial competitive advantages in the soy production chain. For this, it was based on the
exploratory-analytical method and on empirical databases of public and private institutions and entities. That said, in addition to being a major global producer of soy agribusiness, Brazil is one of the main players in international trade. Among other combinations, the excellent performance is associated with the global economic recovery, low interest rates in the world and China’s economic growth. In this way, the soy production chain was essential for not deteriorating the balance of the Brazilian trade balance in recent years. Furthermore, the behavior of the exchange rate does not depress soy grain exports.
