TERRITORIAL IMPACTS OF THE NATIONAL MINING PLAN IN BRAZIL

Abstract

This article aims to discuss in general the content presented by the National Mining Plan 2010-2030, proposed by the Brazilian State. Besides, it contributes to analyzing the role of mining in the international geopolitical context. It studies the dichotomous relationship between the times of nature and the time of capital. We want to contribute to the democratic debate within a perverse scenario of poverty and wealth in local societies. We emphasize the fundamental importance of minerals for the development of the country and the conflicts generated from the choice of the national state to explore mineral resources in controversial and conflicting areas in the national territory.
