THE ECONOMIC CONSEQUENCES OF THE PANDEMIC FOR TOURISM IN THE CITY OF ILHÉUS IN 2020

Abstract

This research was carried out in order to measure the economic impacts of the tourist sector in Ilhéus during the pandemic, through data collection through local companies. The data collected during and before the pandemic, comparing them and noting the results. It is a quali-quantitative research, a form was developed to support the results. Thus, we obtained through the results the economic changes caused by the pandemic in tourism in Ilhéus-BA. We analyzed how the economic scenario was in the pandemic. We describe the Bahian economy before and during the pandemic, and the economic impacts on the State of Bahia, and the city of Ilhéus. Through the analysis of the data, we observed that tourism was the most affected sector due to the necessary social isolation with the growing number of cases.
