The work “Os Sertões”, written between 1896-1897, published in 1902 by Euclides da Cunha, became a great classic of Brazilian Literature, due to its genius and magnitude, thus establishing itself as a timeless literary work. The context of the book is basically the accounts of the Guerra de Canudos or Campanha de Canudos, a conflict between members of the socio-religious community led by Antônio Conselheiro and the Brazilian army, in Canudos, in the interior of the state of Bahia. The motivation for articulating this research consists of the consumer’s perception of products from the cultural industry, effectively noting that the work of Euclides da Cunha has already overflowed in the field of literature, provoking artists from other languages to use the repertoire of his work as a reference to produce new ones. content inspired by the conflicts of the Canudos Campaign. The specific approach of this research portrays the Brazilian impressionist painter Otoniel Fernandes, “O Monet do Cerrado”, a local antonomastic title.
