This present work has as main objective to realize an evaluation of the women’s representation present in the Treatise of the Life and Martyrdom of the Five Martyrs of Morocco (Tratado da Vida e Martírio dos Cinco Mártires de Marrocos) and in the Dominican Sources - The Lives of the Brothers, by Gerardo Franchet (Fontes Dominicanas – As Vidas dos Irmãos, de Gerardo Franchet), which are chronicles of the mendicant orders produced in the medieval period. For this, about the methods, we made a systematization in the scope of the secular sources of the “Cantigas de Santa Maria”, authored by Afonso X, o Sábio (the sources that will be considered on in this work are highlighted in its second part). Thus, through this article we seek to present the context in which the sources were produced and the place in which they circulated. This justifies the title of this paper, which is a small communication that, in addition to making historical findings, seeks to locate them geographically, as well as the objectives for which they were produced, who produced them and why.
