BETWEEN DANIEL MUNDURUKU AND CRISTINO WAPICHANA: SOME REFLECTIONS ON INDIGENOUS LITERATURE FOR CHILDREN

Abstract

This article analyzes two books of indigenous literature (Coisas de índio by Daniel Munduruku and A boca da noite by Cristino Wapichana) aimed at children, in dialogue with the perspective of the existence of an Other subordinate to this same production. It is understood that this perspective of analysis can contribute to understanding the insertion of these works into the Brazilian publishing market insofar as they reflect on the production of an alterity. In other words, at the same time as we can see the existence of otherness, we can also see their insertion into the global market for Brazilian children's literature. In this sense, both works are part of the circulation and reception of works aimed at children and, at the same time, try to take the reader a conception of Indigenous culture based on the referential of an alterity.
