Abstract

The starting point of this work is the global commitment signed in 2015 and which became known as the Paris Agreement reaching COP26 (2021), which presents renewable energies as a way to combat the emission of greenhouse gases, but without discuss models and socio-environmental impacts on territories. Thus, the general objective of this article is to give light to models of renewable energy for the purpose of generation for
the distribution of electricity, highlighting the specifi cities of the territories of the Brazilian Semiarid region, thus departing from the spatial cut of a national hydrographic basin called Piancó-Piranhas-Açu which runs through the states of Paraíba and Rio Grande do Norte. The problem-situations found allowed the interest to carry out a discussion that includes the risks to which diff erent populations are exposed, which prompted the search for reflections based on practical theoretical immersion, aiming at accessing the ideas and thoughts that
best suit the reality and approach in an integrated way. Preliminary results show that the geoeconomic elements, although apparently isolated, can infl uence energy resilience from socio-ecological systems and the adaptive process, through their direct interconnectivity with the functioning of natural systems, whether they are linked to the water and soil cycles. and/or air, but that also arise sociocultural factors. Finally, it is considered necessary to democratize the debate on the topic, the inclusion of traditional communities and the
elaboration of a technical and political project that has the capacity to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but without generating new territorial dynamics of dispossession, new fences to lived spaces, without perpetuating socio-environmental injustices and without reducing nature to a mere service provider for the benefi t of companies and markets.
