Geography is the science that studies the relationship of humans with each other and with nature and its elements. In today’s world, while transforming naturethrough the application of technical, scientific and informational knowledge, man builds and rebuilds the geographic space within the production mode rules of globalized capitalism. Among the numerous challenges of Geography, the production of geographic space is one of the main contemporary issues related to the appropriation of nature by humans, which have promoted the advancement of economic, political, social and environmental problems, signifi cantly representing the values of the societies that build and reproduce them in accordance with the power and influence of economist capital and global consumerist. Based on the present context, Geography teaching in basic education is of great value to study and refl ect on the problems of the postmodern world.
