Abstract

It was sought to reveal the city as a space of dispute and socio-spatial split, from the spatial practice of housing, in order to unravel its contradictions when approaching some socio-spatial conflicts materialized in the housing model of Residencial Vila Velha. Data analysis signals the dominance of the capital logic that imposes housing as a habitat. This means that, by being subject to the logic of value, this housing in the condominium form expresses the segregation of the city and its spaces. As much as the rationalized logic of the habitat prevails in this condominium, the inhabitants of Residencial Vila Velha can establish with their housing something that escapes the logic of the commodity. The Formative Journey carries a creative power capable of modifying the meaning of the landscape by stimulating different perceptions and feelings that arise along the way.
