Abstract

The text discusses educational practices developed in the PIBID of Geography of the Federal University of São João del-Rei, during the pandemic. The project proposed to the students to answer a virtual questionnaire about the presence of historical monuments near their homes and school and the existence or not of graffiti in the landscape, later, they were asked to send drawings of places they like and dislike. Then, it was possible to identify the students’ perception about the experienced landscape, helping in the understanding of the students’ reality. We can also highlight the criticality present in the students’ representations, which presented several socio-environmental issues and problems existing in their contexts. Thus, based on this activity, the PIBID fellows built a didactic sequence with themes proposed by the students themselves, through drawings. The discussion of the representations resulted in the elaboration of a letter to the mayor of the city, claiming improvements in the students’ living space.
