The article presents discussions about education in the city in the context of the Humanities teaching area. For this, it resorts to Lefebvrian assumptions related to the concept of the right to the city, as well as dialogues with contributions from the art world, more specifically about street theater. It aims to highlight theoretical and methodological aspects involved in the elaboration of a theatrical formative travel itinerary to urban spaces. Based on singular data about Morro da Piedade, located in the city of Vitória/ES, it highlights contributions of a formative travel proposal formulated with the aim of discussing and problematizing conflicts and contradictions synthesized in this place. It concludes that the formative journey in this theoretical aspect constitutes an important pedagogical strategy to stimulate other views and experiences of the subjects with the city, in order to apprehend traits of its educational dimension in a critical perspective.
